Last Tuesday, 24th April, was a big night for Blondy Violet @ 1st CHEZ NOUS BURLESQUE CONTEST @ Petrolini Theatre in Rome!
Her masterpiece act “The True Story of Mary Poppins” has been crowned BEST COMEDY by a professional jury represented by:
√ Sally Van Tassel as President of the Jury: She’s from Rome, Burlesque coach @ “Les Rendezvous Burlesque” course for Les Folies Retrò agency. Co-producer of Le Petit Boudoir Burlesque show since 2017.
√ DandywOlly dj : Resident Dj @ Micca Club – Academy for Burelsque Art. He had many collaborations with “Burlesque Garden” in Viareggio and he handled “Caput Mundi Burlesque Award” web start up. Now he’s the artistic director of “Silencio Cabaret”, cabaret burlesque show inspired by David Lynch movies.
√ Miss Margie: radio speaker @ www.deliradio.it, model and event planner from Sicily.
Theatre was SOLD OUT with some people standing up and the audience was incredibly warm and screaming…sure a big help to empowered our performances.
1st Chez Nous Burlesque Contest has been a big success and a great start for Amalia Vox and Claudio Gnomus, producers of this event. They are already planning the 2nd one: “many performers have already asked for information to apply – says Amalia Vox – so everything makes me think there will be a full cast ready for a 2nd edition very very soon”
All the seventeen performers made a great show, all acts have been original and entertaining and jury had a difficult job to choose winners. The other 2 winners are:
- Best Classic – Rossa di Sera
- Most Innovative – SheDorianLux
……so congrats everybody!
Last but not least… all the contestants wore wonderful vintage dress from the main sponsor La Chambre de Sophie Sapphire : the owner Sophie Sapphire has also rewarded all the winners with one of her dress.
